The Marinduque State College-Torrijos Campus in Poctoy, Torrijos, Marinduque was established through the MIST BOT Resolution No. 6, s. 1985 which authorized the opening of a course in School of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Secondary Department. The school actually started its first year of operation on June 17, 1986 at Poblacion Torrijos. There was a single classroom owned by the school then. With the offering of Crop and Animal Sciences as major areas in Agriculture, the campus was then transferred to Brgy. Tamayo, Sta. Cruz, Marinduque which is 6 kilometers from the town proper (see MOA between MSC and PGM). PTC has a total of 13 hectares of which a bigger portion was utilized for demo farm and other farm and agricultural activities of the School of Agriculture.

The College is also tying-up with the different barangays of Torrijos for the implementation of the different agricultural activities of Torrijos Campus.
