The Marinduque State College-Torrijos Campus in Poctoy, Torrijos, Marinduque was established through the MIST BOT Resolution No. 6, s. 1985 which authorized the opening of a course in School of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Secondary Department. The school actually started its first year of operation on June 17, 1986 at Poblacion Torrijos. There was a single classroom owned by the school then. With the offering of Crop and Animal Sciences as major areas in Agriculture, the campus was then transferred to Brgy. Poctoy on a donated land with an area of 10 hectares including two lots with a total area of 6 hectares.
Aside from the site at Torrijos Campus being used by the School of Agriculture for crop production and other agricultural activities, the College signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Provincial Government of Marinduque (PGM) for the utilization of the Provincial Training Center (PTC) located at Brgy. Tamayo, Sta. Cruz, Marinduque which is 6 kilometers from the town proper (see MOA between MSC and PGM). PTC has a total of 13 hectares of which a bigger portion was utilized for demo farm and other farm and agricultural activities of the School of Agriculture.
The College is also tying-up with the different barangays of Torrijos for the implementation of the different agricultural activities of Torrijos Campus.
